Spring is in the air

“Spring and “springtime” refer to the season, and broadly to ideas of rebirth, renewal and regrowth.”

I can feel it in the air, spring is near!

Despite the rain beating down on the window, and the apparent distain for sunny weather; there is a feeling that the good times are arriving swiftly around the corner. Spring is on the horizon. The flowers are peeking their heads in anticipation, and the store front windows are glistening full of colours in preparation.

The date is marked down in the diary. Tuesday 20th March 2012. The official first day of spring.

But what does the change in season mean for you? Does it actually have any impact?

That is really your choosing. My biological clock feels the winter. Not in the form of dramatic aging, but more a process of tiredness felt throughout my mind and a constant battle of winter blues. It’s a guilty statement of mine that I hibernate in the winter. I can’t help it. I just don’t like the cold.

Needless to say, as soon as the sun peaks its cheeky head out of the clouds, I arrive from my slumber and take on the world. It’s not that I am unproductive throughout the winter months; it’s just that my motivation is a constant struggle. Why would I want to get out of bed when it’s so cold in the outside world? It gets dark really early, how can I work when the outside-world is telling me it’s time to wind-down?

Spring is different.

The days are longer. The air is warmer. My motivation is present and constantly building towards the climax of summer glory days.

I have more energy. I have more motivation. I have more drive to succeed. I was born in August. I am not only a summer baby but I am also a lion. This summer I will roar and I will be bold.

Spring is near. I can feel it. I can taste it. I can smell it.

ROAR!
